    Why use it?




Off-road vehicles typically work long hours under demanding conditions. The size of these machines means in many cases the operator may not be aware of a fire until it is well advanced and the use of portable fire extinguishers are in most cases too small and not adequate for large engine fires.

The use of an ETI Foam Fire Suppression System with automatic detection and actuation ensures that the fire is detected and extinguished early. It has the ability of alerting the operator and shutting down the engine.

 

    Why use foam?



The use of foam avoids powder compaction problems that are associated with Dry Chemical Powder Systems when subjected to vibration, which can render the system inoperable.


Foam provides cooling of hot components and reduces the chance of re-ignition.


Foam is able to cover fuel spills which may occur under the vehicle or equipment.


Dry Powder creates induced risks with respiration and escape visibility.
