The
Inspection Services Body(ISB) was formed with the sole objective of
providing high standard inspection work that would be internationally
recognised by accreditation organisations world wide. Australian
standards requirements were considered paramount among these and the
National Association of Testing Authorities of Australia (NATA) was
consulted for guidance on meeting compliant requirements for inspection
in Indonesia. A program was agreed on which would be recognised by NATA
under the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA).
See http://www.nata.asn.au/
This
advice has been adhered to and ISB has been formed to provide fire
inspections. It is currently located at the premises of PT ETI Fire
Systems Indonesia with the purpose of providing ongoing inspection work
for the compliance programs of that company. It is structured at PT ETI
Fire Systems as a Type B inspection body audited to ISO 17020.
The mission of ISB is to verify products and systems, presented for compliance evaluation. The scope of activity includes :
- Assessment of compliance of products and systems to claimed international standards.
- Assessment of compliance of products and systems to relevant customer contracts.
- Analytical and functional testing to establish “Fitness for purpose” to the stated objectives of standards and contracts.
- Independent verification of maintenance of Quality Assurance procedures.
At
the time of writing, ISB is performing inspections for PT ETI Fire
Systems and now publishes its listings for public view. An audit is
currently scheduled by the National Accreditation Committee of
Indonesia (Komite Akreditasi Nasional (KAN). This when successfully
completed will invoke the International Mutual Recognition program
detailed above.
